At Ian Gallacher Jewellers, we can help design your perfect piece of jewellery. Whether it be a bespoke engagement ring that you can’t find on the high street, or a unique pendant made using inherited jewellery from loved ones, we can help design and manufacture the perfect piece for you.

Jewellery Design & Manufacturing Process
Bespoke Consultation (In-Store or Online)
- Customers can book an appointment either in-store or online to discuss their vision.
- We showcase existing stock that aligns with their preferences, as our extensive collection often includes similar designs.
- If no suitable piece is found, we proceed with further adjustments and a potential bespoke design.
- The design process is always tailored to the customer’s budget.
Design & Sketching (If Required)
- If adjustments are needed beyond an existing piece, we create a hand-drawn sketch to refine the concept.
- In some cases, a CAD rendering may also be produced for a detailed preview.
- Once the sketch is provided, a cost estimate is given (if not already discussed).
- Many customers choose to proceed before a sketch is needed due to the availability of similar stock
Approval & Production Timeline
- Once the customer approves the design and cost, the production process begins.
- No further changes can be made at this stage, as casting and crafting will already be underway.
- Bespoke designs typically take 4–8 weeks, depending on complexity
Crafting & Quality Assurance
- Our expert jewellers handcraft the piece, ensuring precision and quality.
- The item undergoes meticulous polishing, stone setting (if applicable), and finishing.
- A final quality control check ensures the jewellery meets our high standards.
Collection or Delivery
- The finished jewellery is ready for collection or secure delivery.
- We provide guidance on proper wear and care for longevity.
Aftercare & Maintenance
- Customers are encouraged to bring their jewellery back for a professional check-up at least once or twice a year.
- Our team ensures the piece remains in top condition, checking for wear, loose stones, or potential repairs.
Design Safety Advice
- If a customer has a bespoke idea that may be structurally weak or prone to damage, we always provide alternative design recommendations.
- Our priority is to ensure all jewellery is safe, durable, and suitable for long-term wear
