CAD designed wedding rings
At Ian Gallacher we can custom make a shaped wedding ring to fit your engagement ring perfectly. For customers who require a diamond set wedding ring with either a channel setting or a claw setting, these are made using Computer Aided Design.
Step 1: Come into our showroom and discuss with one of our jewellers what you would like your wedding ring to look like. We will work with you to put together a design you are happy with.
Step 2: We will come back to you within a few days with an estimated cost to make the ring. If you are happy with the quote you will be required to leave your engagement ring with us and pay a deposit.
Step 3: Within a few days we will have computer aided drawings for you to approve. At this stage you can make adjustments as required, for example altering the width, profile, stone size etc. An accurate weight can be obtained from the drawings and therefore we are then able to give you a firm price.
Step 4: When you have given the go ahead with the drawings the making of the ring will begin. Rapid prototyping is used to create a wax mould from the drawings and this wax is used to cast the ring in the required metal.
Step 5: After the casting process the ring will be finished and polished before the diamonds are set. The entire process usually takes approximately 4 weeks.
We also hand-make shaped wedding rings when the band required is plain or with flush/pave set diamonds. To learn more about this service see here
